PsychoPorts
Some time back my then intern Kayleigh Thompson gathered an eclectic number of portraits for a full set of Psychoacustic output videos. I did not have the chance to follow up and make videos of all these until recently. So far only 3 but more to come. The basics idea for these sound portraits is that the name defines the sound, based on colour values within the portrait. Each letter holds a location within a grid overlaid on the face. It is the cololur value of this location that is translated into sound. Letter to colour to sound.
Lydur
Lydur is an exciting new sound installation project at DogA's main hall in Oslo, Norway. The installation plays on the relation between sound and time and aims to give the visitor an aural orchestral experience of time.
Lydur
The daunting size of the hall offers accoustic challenges, but also amazing natural reverberation. The full installation will be made up of about 30 speaker clusters and a massive sound funnel. Collectively the speakers will perform a generative and infinate composition. The installation is scheduled for August 24. Keep checking in for updates.
Rigging Rig
Piles of plywood and hours on ebay has finally come together. The 2010 New York electro acoustic rig is ready for loudplay.
Rigging Rig
I took the photos during sunset on our roofdeck. Dreading thunderstorms, it took forever bringing all the parts out.
Rigging Rig
Sadly the rig was not plugged.
